Last summer a few of us from St Matthew’s went to New Wine – a summer conference packed with great worship, inspirational teaching and loads of opportunities to see God at work through prayer ministry, not to mention, we had a great time just spending the week together (with several thousand others!).

As we enter the new year, and start to look ahead, we’re already excited about the possibility of taking more people to New Wine this Summer. The dates for this year are:

Sun 2nd Aug – Sat 8th Aug 2015

It’s £147 for the whole week, including your camping pitch, and we will arrange catering amongst ourselves. If you’re interested, or want to find out more, just let us know.

Great job everybody – especially the three ladies who did the cooking for over 80 people! A fantastic way to start our Christmas celebrations.DSCF5712

Looking forward to sharing Christmas dinner as a church family after the service this Sunday – food, games, and 85 people, should be a lot of fun!

On Sunday 19th October, 7 of our members were Confirmed by the Bishop of Wolverhampton. It was an incredibly moving service, with powerful testimonies shared by the candidates… and great food afterwards as we celebrated with them.

This term we’re really excited to have started a new session of the Baby & Toddler Group, meeting on Thursday afternoons from 1pm-3pm. Just like the existing Monday morning group, it’s packed with toys, drinks, stories and fun… oh, and it’s free!

Last Sunday the young people of St Matthew’s Church has their first JAM session, as our childrens’ groups were relaunched for the new term. With new leaders on board we are really excited that we can now offer two groups for different ages during our 10.30am service – one group for 5-8s and another for 9-14s. Pre-school children are always welcome to use the creche space in the chapel, although we love them to be part of the service whenever possible.

By the way, JAM is the new name for our Sunday School. The name was chosen by our young people, and stands for “Jesus and Me”
